Things I do well

My philosophy on leadership is quite simple: anyone can be a leader in some capacity. Job title does not make any difference when it comes to exhibiting leadership qualities. I enjoy taking pride in my work and being a leader in what I do.

Communications theorist and philosopher Paul Watzlawick once said "One cannot not communicate." I wholeheartedly believe this to be true and aspire to communicate well in all I do. I pride myself on being a good writer and excellent editor.

Nothing is more fulfilling than working with a group of students when they have that "aha" moment. I love working in higher education and the opportunities it affords me for seeing those moments.

Brian Weed

Many people I have worked with over the years have written accolades for me. Some are end-of-term student evaluations, some are LinkedIn recommendations, some are notes of thanks that spontaneously came to me, and others are letters of recommendation for performance evaluations and professional references.

No matter the source, I am extremely grateful to those who have written such kind words! I have been truly blessed to have had the opportunity to work with such great students and colleagues.

Brian Weed is a well-organized instructor who is very knowledgeable of his areas of expertise. His generous personality; easy and calm demeanor; and warm sense of humor make him an excellent team player and instructor who is constantly eager to assist and interact with both students and colleagues . . . Mr. Weed’s completely self-motivated service to the college and to his students creates a supportive communication climate in the classroom. He is available to students and he generates enthusiasm for the subject.
